The Murderbot Series is written by Martha Wells. Originally titled 'The Murderbot Diaries', this name seems to now refer specifically to the first four as of Fugitive Telemetry's back-of-the-book index, and Network Effect is now a 'Standalone Murderbot Novel'.
There are two short stories that supplement the novellas and novels. All of them have Murderbot as the main point-of-view character except Home: Habitat, Range, Niche, Territory, which features Mensah. Network Effect has interludes where it switches to other points of view, but otherwise returns to Murderbot.
Chronological Order[]
The series was released out of order compared to its in-universe chronology. The chronological order is:
- Compulsory - Short Story
- All Systems Red
- Artificial Condition
- Rogue Protocol
- Exit Strategy
- Home: Habitat, Range, Niche, Territory - Short Story
- Fugitive Telemetry
- Network Effect
- System Collapse
The first four Novellas have been re-released for a timed and limited edition called The Murderbot Diaries. They are also available, individually, via Kindle Unlimited.
